Philip Dent Isaacs, 79, of West Frankfort, Illinois went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, May 1, 2016. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Lydia Beth Taft Isaacs; his parents Walter Elmus Isaacs and Juanita Faye Lowery Isaacs, and his siblings: Alice Maxine Dethrow, Wayne Edward Isaacs, and Arthur Lee Isaacs.

He celebrated 43 years of marriage, and is survived by his three children: Garret K. Taft (Liz), Laura D. Earleywine (Troy), and Philip A. Isaacs (Lucy)and his sisters: Ruth Elaine Denny and her husband Mike and Mary Josephine Robey and her husband Don.

He was blessed with eight beautiful grandchildren: Kristian Taft and his wife Krystyna, Kimberly Taft, Kassandra Taft, Isaac Earleywine, Emily Earleywine, Felicia Isaacs, Justin Isaacs, and Lilly Isaacs; and 3 great grand-children Emily, Kaydon and Riley Taft.

Philip accomplished many things in his life. He graduated Thompsonville High School in 1956. After graduation he joined the United States Army and served as a medic. He traveled the world. He worked for McDonald Douglas for 20 years; during his tenure he assisted with NASA's Project Gemini, second human space-flight program. He loved life, enjoyed fishing, gardening, baseball and coffee.

The visitation memorial service will be Friday, May 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Morton and Johnson Funeral Home, 410 S Main, Benton, Illinois. Following the memorial visitation service there will be a funeral a gravesite ceremony at Mount Zion Cemetery, Thompsonville, Illinois with Military Rites.
