SPRINGFIELD — Illinois Department of Transportation officials have announced upcoming lane reductions in Franklin County.
Beginning Sunday, a contractor is resurfacing the northbound lanes, between mile posts 68 to 79, between 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
The work is expected to last six nights, weather permitting. The work was originally scheduled to begin on Tuesday, but delayed due to weather conditions.
IDOT recommends motorists reduce speed, be alert to equipment and workers and use caution when traveling through this area during the overnight hours. Minor delays are expected.
