Prospective students and their families are invited to take a look inside Rend Lake College during RLC’s upcoming Preview Day event.

From 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, all three RLC campuses will be open to the public with faculty and staff on-hand to speak with those interested in the college and its programs. One lucky visitor will even walk away with a 12-credit-hour academic award, a value of $1,500.

Visitors to the main campus should visit the Student Center to register for tours of the campus and prizes. Those visiting Mt. Vernon and Pinckneyville campuses should start their visit in the main lobbies.

Attendees can speak directly with faculty and staff about programs, admissions, financial aid, and more. Tours of campus or specific programs will be available from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Informational booths will also be conveniently located in the Student Center’s Private Dining Area in the back of the building. Each of RLC’s divisions will be represented as well as many student services, including Advisement, Career Services and Financial Aid.

Throughout the Ina campus, educators will be presenting information to prospective students in the various buildings they teach. Detailed maps pointing to specific programs, services and facilities will be available in the Student Center.

Additionally, there will be giveaways throughout the evening in the Student Center. Attendees do not need to be present to win, but they must register in the Student Center to be entered into the drawings. RLC Culinary Arts students will also be on hand, providing refreshments and light snacks throughout the evening.

The academic award drawing will be held at a later date after all entrants from campuses are collected. The academic award is good for up to 12 credit hours of tuition. This award is non-transferable and must be used during one semester.

Several programs offered at the RLC Marketplace in Mt. Vernon will be on display. Cosmetology will be set up to show off Studio RLC. The American Heart Association Training Center will be located in the coffee shop lobby along with the welcome table. Certified Nurse Assistant will be in the Nurse Training Center, and EMT-Paramedic will be in room 221.

At the Murphy-Wall Pinckneyville Campus, Campus Coordinator Heather Bauersachs and Administrative Assistant Linda Smith will be available to speak with students about classes and programs offered fully or in-part at the Pinckneyville location. Amy Epplin, Financial Aid Specialist, will also be available to speak with students regarding financial aid options.
