Kenneth Richardson of Benton shows off the hay bale he painted to look like a jack-o'-lantern.
The bale sits near his home on Bowling Alley Road, and he used wood to make eyes and a mouth to entertain his grandchildren.
"I do everything for them," Richardson, 76, said.
After Halloween, Richardson plans to arrange a pair of boots sicking out of the bale and place a bicycle nearby, as if a cyclist had run into the hay bale and gotten stuck there.
"They laugh all the way to the lake," he said.
