AKIN -- Oma Louise Randall, 83, passed away peacefully in Lexington, Kentucky, on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, after a long battle with congestive heart failure.

Born on July 30, 1933, on a farm near Akin, Oma was the daughter of Clyde and Stella (Ing) Waller. She is survived by two children, Sharon (Rick) Robinson of Benton and Becky (Peter) Ferrero of Lexington, Kentucky; two grandchildren, Alexander and Kathryn Ferrero of Lexington, Kentucky; and two brothers, Vernon Waller of rural Hamilton County and Raymond Waller of Sun City West, Arizona.

Oma was a loving, devoted mother and grandmother who doted on her two grandchildren.

She was an ardent fan of both the St. Louis Cardinals and NASCAR, and her many talents included being a wonderful cook and seamstress.

Oma loved to read and also enjoyed her membership in the Country Girls unit of the Franklin County Homemakers Education Association. She made numerous crocheted caps for young patients at St. Louis Children's Hospital.

In addition to many years spent working on her family's farm, Oma held jobs in retail and social work. She was a member of the Christian faith.

A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
